Atlanta Concierge – What is a concierge?

According to Princeton’s web dictionary a concierge is “a French caretaker of apartments or a hotel; lives on the premises and oversees people entering and leaving and handles mail and acts as janitor or porter”. Although over the years the term has been used and applied in other ways. In fact now the term is being used by many businesses which claim to be a concierge or concierge service provider.

The businesses provide those same services that where once done by a caretaker that live on the premises. But now these concierge companies provide caretakers that come to a house or other premises that need specific jobs or tasks done.

Really the types of jobs a concierge can provide are almost endless, ranging from things like grocery shopping to mowing the lawn. They can even plan a partly for special event for you (more on event planning atlanta).

Since many companies are offering these services and the caretaker is no longer living on the premises and you might get a different caretaker for each task or the next time you hire them for a project so the quality and speed of their work should be rather important.

Therefore the things I’d look for in a concierge company is:

  1. Their response time – how fast do they answer my calls and how fast do that get the job or task done.
  2. What type of workmanship do they provide – is the quality of their work good or do I have to redo the same task they were paid to do.
  3. Do the go above the call of duty – are they willing to putt a little more effort into the work they are doing and provide you with something of value that is better than what you intent for the cost.

Well, I hope that helps answer your questions on concierge and provides you with some tips on choosing your next one. You can find more information about this subject on our website at Atlanta concierge.

Proper Etiquette at Vienna Balls

Now that the ball season in Vienna is in full swing, many people who have never been to this event might be interested to go this year. But wait! Before you go there, it might be worth learning about the proper etiquette at this formal event. Knowing the right ways to behave will ensure that you won’t get embarrassed and out of place there.

Dancing skills are a must when attending. Don’t worry, though, if you don’t know how to dance because dance lessons are provided for free. Normally, six free dance lessons are offered before the ball takes place including one session in the afternoon of the date of the ball itself. The dances covered include the Viennese Waltz, Grand March, Fledermaus Quadrille, polka and the gallop.

Anybody interested to learn how to dance and even those who cannot make it to the ball can attend the session. Nothing to worry if you have two left feet because it’s easy to learn the ball dances. In addition, no partner is necessary because dance partners are rotated during the dance lessons.

During the ball itself, it’s proper etiquette for men to ask women with no escorts to dance. Couples are also encouraged to dance with other people.

For the women, keep in mind that when a man asks you to dance, it does not necessarily mean that he is already in love with you or is interested in you.

When a couple is dancing, it’s unethical for other men to cut in and ask the lady to dance. Etiquette calls for men to let a couple finish their dance first before inviting the lady to dance with him.

Women are also allowed to decline a man’s invitation to dance. But this is only if she is tired or has already committed to dance to another man. She you can just assure the gentleman to dance with him at a later time.
